Justin Clapin ... 'once a farmer'
I was born and raised on a farm outside Cranbrook, a small town in the south of Western Australia. I love farming, working with animals and machinery, fixing things, and getting my hands dirty.
I left farming a couple of years ago and now live and work in Elleker, near Albany on the south coast of WA, but, as my grandmother always says - 'once a farmer, always a farmer'.
So, with my wife Hannah, on our small bush block we have been able to create our own piece of rural Australia - where I can still get my hands dirty. A workshop full of scrap metal and wood collected from our farm - this is my escape, where I can take discarded steel and wood and give it life, forming a living sculpture, with character.
